"I'm not a pageant girl."

"Pageants are just for pretty girls in pretty dresses."

"They are a bunch of catty and competitive ladies..."

"I'm not pretty enough."

These words, phrases and thoughts were all too familiar to me, from the outside of "pageant land" looking in.  Isn't perception a funny thing?

Hello, I'm Charity Majors, founder and creator of The beYOUty Pageant rEVOLution.

THE BEYOUTY PAGEANT REVOLUTION IS THE "WHAT'S NEXT" IN PAGEANTRY. It COMBINEs PAGEANTRY, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT AND BUSINESS STRATEGIES THAT EMPOWER WOMEN AND DRAW OUT THE BEST IN YOU SO THAT WHEN YOU COMPETE, YOU ARE AUTHENTIC, YOU STAND OUT AND YOU ARE BEAUTIFULLY YOU INSTEAD OF A "COOKIE CUTTER" VERSION OF WHAT SOMEONE ELSE THINKS YOU SHOULD BE.

WELCOME TO "WHAT'S NEXT" IN PAGEANTRY. THE WORLD IS CRAVING REAL, AUTHENTIC, BRAVE AND BEAUTIFUL WOMEN WHO CAN LEAD IN LOVE, NOT THE "WHAT HAS BEEN" OF THE PERFECT PAGEANT-PATTY.

As a former personal trainer, health coach, and entrepreneur turned pageant girl, I can tell you, first hand, that perception is not always reality.

Before I joined the pageant world, I had a certain perception about pageants and the women involved. A lot of this perception came from what I saw in the media as well as my personal experiences with groups of women from my past.  Growing up, I was deemed nicknames like "volleyball barbie" (and it wasn't meant to be a compliment) and I tended to be the butt of the blonde jokes. Girls would tease me, gossip about me and call me names. Boys were intimidated by me.  I began to believe what they were saying and started the spiral of negative self-talk. I had a poor body and self image. I became a perfectionist. I hid behind countless masks and I was a people pleaser, afraid of rejection and failure. I was guarded. I strived. I achieved. I worked. I could "get 'er done" with the best of them. I compared myself to others and somehow always came up short. I was, somehow, always "not enough." Not good enough, pretty enough, smart enough, I didn't work hard enough. Confused, overwhelmed, and unfulfilled, I realized that I didn't know who I was anymore or why I was even here.

After being fed up with who I had become, (I call this the divine discontentment), I knew something had to change. I got help, I worked on my thought patterns, I read, I meditated, I began to peel off the masks that guarded my heart. I let go of relationships that were no longer life-giving, I cut out the toxic people and habits...I did the work...the hard work...the digging up of the bitter roots that had taken hold of my heart. I tilled the soil of my hardened heart, uprooted the weeds that caused it to wither. I slowly and surely began to bloom and I started to experience life differently.

In the middle of my quarter-life-crisis, I found pageantry...or should I say that pageantry found me?  I was at a place in my life where I wanted to be better.  I wanted to be intentional about who I surrounded myself with and my heart longed to give back to my community. I saw how Pageantry could help with that...

Despite my fears of "not being a pageant girl," and fighting the old self-talk that I wasn't good enough or pretty enough and didn't know what the heck I was doing, I jumped in anyways! I spent a lot of time fumbling my way through the process, learning all that I could, interviewing anyone that I could, you-tubing every resource, reading every book and blog post, stalking every Instagram account and joining every Facebook page. I found some relevant information but also found very "outdated" resources that seemed to create "cookie-cutter-pageant-patty's" or they just didn't fit me. I discovered different coaches, and again, some didn't resonate with me and others didn't fit within my budget (because girl, we all know that Pageantry can cost a pretty penny)! Being the strategic nerd that I am, I also wondered how Personal Development resources and business strategies could be implemented within the my Pageant Prep. Strategies like knowing myself better and being confident in who I was and what lit me up from the inside. Practices within the business world like branding and networking. I stayed on mission to not only better myself, but to be surrounded with other powerful and amazing women (who, in the past, used to intimidate me or gossip about me).

I stayed on mission to contribute, to give back, to make a difference. I believed that the platform  pageantry provided could amplify the message that I held in my heart. THAT was my WHY. And guess what...it worked. I won! I won the pageant! I had an incredible year making a difference and sharing my message all over my state, at Nationals, and continue to share it, all over the world, to this day. I also gained so much more than a crown.  I gained new and wonderful friends all over the country, that continue to support me in my life's purpose. I had also grown into a woman that I am proud of, to this day. I unapologetically own my authentic beYOUty without shame, and humbly yet confidently believe that I am here "for just a time as this..."

You might be reading this and be thinking, well, that's great Charity...but what about me? I am just starting out or I have competed before, only to see my dreams slip away. Well, what if what I learned throughout my journey could work for you too? What if this NEW combination of Pageantry, Personal Development and Business Strategies is what's missing from outdated resources and overpriced coaching? What if you were able to get crystal clear on your message, your mission, and what the platform of pageantry could do for you? What if you had the tools and resources all in one place verses being spread out all over internet-creation.  What if you could save time, money and frustration during the learning and growing process? What if you could have access to the beauty hacks AND the personal growth resources that don't necessarily get talked about within the pageant world but are so needed as we go through the process of receiving the crown?

pageant winner

THAT is the mission of The beYOUty Pageant rEVOLution. That's why I created it. I saw what the crown did for me and my message and how it was the catalyst to so many great things, but it's no good to me now if I can't show others how to do the same. I have been helping women prep for their pageants over the last few years, so I decided, why not put these resources all in one easy and accessible place so that they can help even more women?! I don't claim to know it all or be an expert, but I have plenty of knowledge and resources to pay it forward. It is my hope to share everything that I have learned so that the message and dream inside of you can be unlocked and lived out. Because I believe that you too, are here "for just a time as this..."

The beYOUty Pageant rEVOLution was created to bring together the practical tips and tools of pageantry (like hair, makeup, fashion, fitness, beauty hacks and butt glue). And it is also to provide the resources that dive deeper than what's on the outside. It's made to empower your inner growth to be authentic and the real you instead of a cookie-cutter robot with the perfect pageant-patty answer.  It's to help you work on your mind and spirit so that you shine the brightest you can on that stage, so that your message is bold and clear, and so that you can carry the weight that comes with the crown gracefully and authentically.

The world is changing and what “has been” in the Pageant world is evolving...People want real. They want authenticity. They are done with the “fake pageant girl” and the robotic masks of perfection. Welcome to the “what’s next” in Pageantry. I believe that “If there ever comes a time when the women of the world come together purely and simply for the benefit of mankind, it will be a force such as the world has never known.” THIS - The beYOUty Pageant rEVOLution, is for that. To come together, as powerful women who own our authentic beauty, get rid of the masks and insecurities that hold us back, to lead in love and to lift each other up instead of tear each other down.  I truly believe that women are a powerful and beautiful force, that when we support other women, when we come together in our authentic beauty and get rid of the masks and insecurities that hold us back, it is exactly what the world needs. And we haven't even begun to scratch the surface of bringing about that potential. It is my mission to unlock and empower the potential inside of YOU, if you are ready and willing, so that you can play your part in this big picture.

Because we need you.  All of you.  In all of your authentic and fierce beauty, to live out your life's message and to make the world a better place.  It can be done through the growth and process that happens within pageantry so let this be a resource and a catalyst for you and your life's mission - "for just a time as this."

With all my love and support,

Charity Majors
